Traditional Oak Timber Framing Please see our Timber Framing page for details of our timber frames made from locally grown English green Oak or Douglas Fir. We specialise in the design, construction and erection of oak framed buildings and green oak structures. All our timber frames are individually hand made by our small team of specialist carpenters in our workshop near Tavistock in Devon. Traditional heavy structural timber framing is an extremely versatile method of construction and the technique can be used to build anything from beautiful, durable, energy efficient houses and characterful extensions, to porches, garden houses and oak conservatories, garages, gazebos or heavy oak trusses. English Oak: We do not use any imported timber in our timber frames. We use locally grown Oak, Douglas Fir or Larch, sawmilled from the round by ourselves on our own sawmill. Entrance Gates Our hardwood or softwood gates are hand made to order. We use high quality timber and take pride in producing a fine quality, enduring product which will greatly enhance both the security and appearance of your property. More photos of our gates can be found by clicking on Entrance Gates All our gates can be made suitable for automation. Woodchip Woodfuel: We supply woodchip for woodfuel boilers within West Devon and East Cornwall. Our woodchip is well seasoned and dry (approximately 15-20% moisture) and produced from the offcuts of local timber from our sawmill. We use a specialist wood fuel chipper which produces the optimum particle size for wood chip boilers. The cost is approximately £17 per cubic metre collected. ABOUT US Other Projects: The primary focus of our work is oak framing and entrance gates but our joiners will turn their hands to furniture projects such as the oak bench shown below which has a seat made from naturally curved seasoned air dried English Oak, and a curved backrest made from seasoned English sweet chestnut.
